Happy WOYWW 386

Good morning all.. Happy What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!

This week I've been uber busy making Christmas cards.. mostly at a workshop on Saturday, but then a few more on my own on home on Sunday too.

Of course, if you don't know what I'm talking about.. then hop on over to Julias at The Stamping Ground to see what its all about.

So, without further ado here is a picture of my desk  with things in a bit of disarray for me.. but hey ho... I'm still charging around like mad after Mum so I can't keep on top of everything! Sadly we had some bad news this week... her chance of recovery and survival is only 20% so I'm crafting like mad to take my mind off things. :0(

Here is the overall collection of cards and treat boxes I made at Sue McDonalds workshop .. check out her blog here later she's an independent Stampin' Up demonstrator and her classes are fab so if you're local to her (Orpington, Kent) I'm sure she'd love to see some new faces.

Then a close up of some of them- most are using the Cookie Cutter Stamp Set and punch from Stampin' Up, but there are other random stamps sets that were used but I'm afraid I don't know the names of them all. The papers in this one were also Stampin' Up.. (in this years catalogue too)

This one: Papers from Kaisercraft Silent Night collection from Merly Impressions

More Stampin' Up papers and stamps in this one
This one is using the new Sizzix by Stampin' Up- Cable Knit embossing folder.. I just had to buy that one.. cute isn't it?
This one is a spinner card..hence the odd angle of the penguin! lol
My personal favourite, using the Cookie Cutter stamp and punch.. (I had to make an envelope too as it's a big card)

and finally a card I made for The Paper Craft Crew weekly challenge. This week we were inspired to make a card representing Auntumn..so here it is.. for a male friends birthday next week. I was also honoured to be chosen to be in their Top Five last week too.. chuffed!

Well, apart from chasing around after Mum we are also currently in the middle of decorating my kitchen too.. all the units are turning from Ash wood to a pale grey.. I am loving the look of it so far! I can't wait to see it finished. Here it is so far

Here it is before

I'll do 'finished' pictures next week.. God willing

No scrapbooking for me this week  because I'm off on retreat on Friday so I'm saving my LO's until then.. so I should have a bumper crop of LO's to share with you next week.

So that's it for now.. do let me know you've visited and please do tell me which cards are your favourite as I still have a lot to make so a few duplicates will be in order! Lol

Until then..have a fab week everyone and I'll see you all on your own blogs.

WOYWW 385

Good morning hot deskers...

It's good to be back.. sorry for my absence! All I can say is 'LIFE' !!! It certainly gets in the way from time to time.. anyway..of course, the reason you're all here is to have a snoop around my workspace..and again.. I am sharing my table instead. ..only to be honest.. I cheated because I forgot to take a fresh photo..but it looked pretty much like this did when I took this one a few weeks back..apologies!

The reason I am sharing this instead of my desk is due to the fact that I hosted a Mixed Media workshop yesterday at my home and this is just like the mess we made ....here is a canvas I made.

Of course, if you don't know what I'm talking about.. then hop on over to Julias at The Stamping Ground to see what I'm talking about.

In the meantime.. here are some of my latest creations since I've last been here

First some Christmas cards. I used a Stampin' Up Autumn Days set to make these cards and added gold washi and bling to 'pimp' them up a bit for Christmas. I also made a few more Christmas cards that I blogged on Monday in my last post.

Then I made this layout of my gorgeous Grand-daughter for a weekly challenge over on UK Scrappers

I used 'blobs' (is there a more technical term for this?) of acrylic paint and spread them in a downward arc to create a smear of colours that went with the background on her high chair. I then layered the die cut grid, stamped the words, added die cut ducks and layered the daisies. Finally I used the Martha Stewart Fan punch to chomp out the edges a little.

Here are four more I have made too

for my final layout I used the Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose collection to make this LO to add to an album that my craft group is making for one of our members for her special birthday. I've blacked out the faces as it is a surprise. I think she'll be very pleased  with the  album don't you?

and finally another card made with the Glisten Collection from Kaisercraft

So that's it for now, thanks for stopping by.. I'm off for a snoop of my own..

Four layouts from todays crop

Hiya..I'm off out shortly so I am making this Uber quick! lol

Today I went to my monthly crop and I managed to make four layouts, two using mood boards and one with a sketch..the others I made up so here they are.

First this one using the October mood board from Scrap The Girls blog

I also used this sketch from The Memory Nest blog Make it Monday sketch 72

and created this layout of one of my friends and her cousin. She is going to be 50 at the end of the month while we are on a retreat so all those of us that are attending are making a page or two each to going an album for her. I think she's going to be really pleased with  it.. and overwhelmed I hop. Bless.

then I made this layout with this totally gorgeous mood board from Funky Flair Inspiration Studios

keeping the 'Metropolitan' theme in mind I used these photos of us at The Shard, London in January 2015. To create the wavy 'brick' effect I cut the lines with my Cameo and then added white and gold vellum behind them. I also added printed vellum behind the photos, including the gold accessories paper which seemed to fit perfectly with the Metropolitan theme which was also part of the challenge. You can't see it in the photo but on the gold polaroid frame the word 'today' is also printed but the reflection blurs it out.

I also made this layout using Kaisercraft papers of when my poor DH had an operation on his shoulder last year.. he had 100% immobility in it and as a serving firefighter he couldn't work. He had to have 12 weeks off but he had intensive physio therapy on it and eventually managed to full duties. What a relief!

and finally this one of my DH and GD earlier this year... I just love these photos!

For good measure I've thrown in one of my cards I made at a card class earlier this week too. It is black and white in real life but it looks as though it has a strange hue over it? Not sure why..

anyway..must cut and run... bye for now.
